The mission of Langsmith is to pursue the AI-driven writing assistance system.
Recently, text-based communication, as well as face-to-face communication, has become more and more critical.
In text-based communication, we assume that there are at least three processes:
- Think about what you want to say.
- Put your ideas down into texts elaborating on how to say.
- Check for errors in, for example, grammar and spelling.
The first one (determining what to say) can only be done by humans.
The third part (checking errors) can be assisted by grammar and spelling error correction tools.
As for the second part (elaborating how to say), there are few assistance technologies, while this is a fundamental and daunting process in communication.
We believe that AI can assist writers with this point interactively, especially in text-based communication, where the real-time property is rarely required.
Langsmith aims to improve text-based communication in today’s world by supporting the “refinement of how to say” using state-of-the-art natural language processing technology.
